Reiki

Origin
Mikao Usui developed Reiki in the early 1900’s, deriving the term from the Japanese words rei, meaning “universal,” and ki, which refers to the vital life force energy that flows through all living things. Reiki is not specific to any particular disease or condition.
My Journey
My name is Rebecca, the owner of Just for Today Healing. I am trained and certified as a Reiki Master in Level 3, Crystal Reiki, and Animal Reiki by way of Usui lineage. I am also trained and certified in Tarot. I have been a highly sensitive person (HSP), an Empath, and Intuitive Therapist for as long as I can remember. Almost as if I have been helping people heal my whole life. I have always had a deep connection with animals as well. My sensitivity goes beyond spirituality. I have high sensitivity to physical touch and almost all medications, which led me on my holistic journey. My journey led me to work with children in different capacities over the years. One of my kiddos, Stella, led me to Reiki.
Stella has scoliosis and has been treating it for years through braces and physical therapy. She was due for fusion surgery and went to get a pre op scan. The scan revealed that she would now need brain surgery as well due to the spine shifting from her brain stem. One day, I noticed that she was visually nervous. She was having a moment of anxiety about the upcoming appointment. I decided to take her out of the setting to clear her head and calm her down. I walked her outside to watch the beautiful sunset that was happening. As we were silently watching, I instinctively placed my hands on her shoulders. She relaxed immediately. At that moment, I knew something special was happening and I was being called to heal. Not only Stella, but others as well. Practicing Reiki and helping others on their journeys to heal their mind, body and spirit has been magical.

Traditional Reiki:
Reiki promotes relaxation, stress reduction, and symptom relief to improve overall health and well-being. Reiki can bring on a meditative state, foster tissue and bone healing after injury or surgery, stimulate the body’s immune system, promote natural self-healing, relieve pain and tension, support the well-being of people receiving traditional medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and kidney dialysis. Studies show that Reiki treatment may create feelings of peace, relaxation, security and wellness. All sessions are distance so you can experience the session in the comfort of your own space.
Crystal Reiki:
Crystal Reiki is a form of healing that combines the two alternative healing modalities of Reiki and crystal healing. During a crystal healing session, energy is transferred to the client from crystals or stones while Reiki is being performed. The crystals being used are cleansed, charged, and intentions set for each session.
Traditional Sage Cleansing:
When sage is burned, it releases negative ions, which is linked to biochemical reactions that increase levels of serotonin, helping to alleviate depression, relieve stress, and boost daytime energy. During a cleansing the intention is set, and the sage is lit. The practitioner will waft the smoke over the client, either by hand or feather healing the mind, heart, and body. Studies have shown that sage has powerful antimicrobial and antibacterial qualities. It can improve mood, cognition, and can even help with easing insomnia.
Animal Reiki:
A simple non-invasive alternative therapy to help animals balance on physical, mental/emotional, and energetic levels. Animals are very sensitive to energy and love receiving Reiki energy. Effective Reiki sessions with animals can be performed using hands-on methods or from a distance. This non-invasive therapy makes it ideal for working with all kinds of animals, from domestic pets to wildlife. The benefits include relieving anxiety, creating a stronger sense of wellbeing, relieves pain, strengthens immune system, supports healing, helps with behavioral issues, promotes relaxation and stress reduction, promotes overall health and wellness. In person and distance available.
*If an animal is not accepting of the Reiki energy the owner can be the conduit for their pet.
Tarot Reading:
Tarot reading is a form of cartomancy whereby practitioners use tarot cards to purportedly gain insight into the past, present or future. They formulate a question, then draw cards to interpret them.
